International Conference & Call For Papers: International Conference on Environmental Justice, 2023

The Conference welcomes submissions by postgraduate students and early career researchers from any disciplinary field across the world. In the case of co-authors, at least one of the authors must be a current postgraduate student or an early-stage career academic. The thematic areas of the Conference will be centred around issues of Environmental Justice.



• Environmental Justice: Asian dimensions and legal responses
• Beyond Environmental Justice: Climate Justice, Energy Justice and the Just Transition
• Environmental issues in the United States of America with an interdisciplinary approach and a
perspective on Environmental Justice



• Environmental Justice: Innovation, Technology, and AI; Will the law complicate or compliment?
• Cooperative Federalism and public policy; instrumentalities for achieving ecological parallel (preservation, conservation, and protection of biodiversity).
• Energy security, carbon neutrality, groundwater-the right to a clean and healthy environment.
• Waste an opportunity for transformation with a strong business case
• Gender, Elderly, Children, and Refugees: Transforming the Right to Dignity – Transforming right to ensuring dignity in a satisfactory environment
• “Just Transition”: What is just and for whom?
• Global interconnections and climate justice in the pathways towards low-carbon futures
• Entanglements of biopower and energopower: The role of energy as a socio-political force
• Transitioning in times of conflict: what we can learn from local case studies
• The role of innersocietal inequalities and intersectionality in justice issues
• Approach to Climate Change through Research, Pedagogy and curriculum setting and the establishment of a Climate Change Consortium in Governor’s Island in New York City.

• Climate Change and Resilience in coastal cities in the USA

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of topics. You are welcome to submit abstracts on any
topic of your interest as long as it falls within an area of concern on Environmental Justice.

● Final Conference dates: 25th August and 01st September 2023

1. Authors shall register and submit their abstracts and CV at the following link –

2. In the case of more than one author, only the corresponding author must initiate the
registration process.
3. Co-authorship is allowed up to a maximum of two authors for one paper.
4. Authors shall fill in all their particulars and upload their abstracts on the given link to complete the registration and submission.
5. Authors shall make all the submissions only in .doc format.

1. Please note that the number of selected abstracts for presentation in the final Conference is
strictly limited to 60 abstracts.
2. Authors should write an abstract between 250 to 300 words relating to the themes of the
3. The abstract should include a suitable title for the paper, three to five keywords, the name of
the author(s), and their affiliation.
4. The abstract should be coherent and free of grammatical errors.
5. Selected abstracts are published for the conference proceedings.


1. The main text of the full paper should be written in Times New Roman font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing, and footnotes in Times New Roman font size 10, with line spacing 1.0.
2. All the headings should be numbered and written in 12-points. Each main heading (first level) should be capitalised, bold, and centre-aligned. The second-level heading should be in title case, bold, and left-aligned. The third level heading should be in title case and leftaligned.
3. Authors should follow the APA Style mode of citation throughout the paper.
4. The word limit for the full papers should remain between 5000-8000 words, including footnotes (excluding abstract and bibliography).
5. All the authors shall give an undertaking that the plagiarism of the paper is below the permissible limit of 15%.
6. Research should be an original work of the author and must not have been submitted or accepted for publication.
7. Authors should strictly adhere to the following formatting guidelines:
❖ Do not use abbreviations without prior explaining the terms.
❖ Do not use bold and/or underline to highlight the text.
❖ Use single quotes to emphasise a word or phrase.
❖ Tables and charts should be centre-aligned if used.

● E-certificates will be provided to all the author(s) who present their papers at the Conference.
● Best paper presentations will be awarded in all the themes at the Conference.
