Supreme Court Constituted New Constitution Bench Of Five Judges

In a notice issued by the Assistant Registrar (Listing), the apex court said that apart from the CJI, the constitution bench would comprise Justice Hrishikesh Roy, Justice PS Narasimha, Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Manoj Mishra. The first of the four cases coming up for consideration before the constitution bench on July 12 is titled ‘Tej Prakash and others vs Rajasthan High Court’.

The apex court will reopen on July 3 after the summer vacations that began on May 22.

Earlier, the matter was listed before a five-judge constitution bench headed by Justice Indira Banerjee and a new bench was constituted after her retirement.

The newly constituted constitution bench will also take up three other matters later.
