Medical College Ordered To Return Fees With Interest By High Court, Lucknow

The High Court ordered a refund of the student’s fee of 10 lakh 50 thousand along with 6% annual interest if the college did not refund the fees after not taking admission on illegal fees from the student.
The girl student qualified NEET 2018, and after counseling went to Subharti Medical College, Meerut for MBBS course. Girl student alleged that college demanded more fees than required by the admission policy. Hence, she didn’t take admission and asked for returning of fees which college allegedly denied.
Lucknow Bench of High Court directed the college to return the fees with 6% interest.
The order was given by the Bench of Justice Pankaj Bhatia on the petition of girl student Garima Singh.
Petitioner’s lawyer Krishna Lal Yadav told that the student was a resident of Sultanpur. Advocate Krishna Lal Yadav informed that when she went to take admission in the said college, illegal fees were demanded from the girl student, on which Mahima Singh refused to take her admission.
