The Public Engagement and Campaigns Division of Human Rights Watch (HRW) is seeking a student intern in the New York office. Ideally, the intern will be available about 15-20 hours per week beginning in January until May 2023 (dates and times are flexible).
Qualifications
The intern must be an enrolled undergraduate or graduate student majoring in international relations, political science, journalism, public policy or a related field for the duration of the internship. Applicants should be enthusiastic, detail-oriented, self-motivated, reliable, and creative. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required. Prior experience with digital advocacy and campaigning, using major social media platforms, and/or multimedia production is preferred. Internet research skills and familiarity with MS Office programs, such as Word and Excel, are essential. Applicants who are offered an internship must possess valid work authorization in the United States for the duration of the internship.
Salary
Interns will paid a gross hourly wage of USD 17.00 per hour. Human Rights Watch offers twenty (20) days of vacation prorated per year pursuant to the work schedule and length of contract.
