Overview & Responsibilities

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and Office Services, with a dual reporting line to the IDLO Director-General on specific matters, the Ethics and Investigations Officer will be responsible for:

  1. Promoting an ethics culture in the organization.
  2. Facilitating informal conflict resolution where possible.
  3. Acting as the focal point for receiving and addressing reports of potential misconduct

Job Requirements

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Work Experience:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in law, criminology, human resources management or closely related fields.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible and relevant experience in areas relevant to the management of ethics issues and integrity training, such as law, corporate compliance, employee relations and staff misconduct handling and investigations is required.
  • Relevant professional experience in a multilateral international organization, United Nations or other.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner qualification will be an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of internationally recognized corporate governance and integrity standards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of administrative law and internal justice systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of ethics and compliance programmes.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of other languages is highly desirable.

  • Strong analytical skills to plan, conduct and manage complex investigations and/or fraud control and ethics programs.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, leading change, problem solving, communication, conflict management and resolution and interpersonal skills with high resilience and drive in achieving objectives and goals.
  • Relevant experience in a multi-cultural work environment fostering a climate of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Proven creative energy, and a respected team player;
  • Ability to work across organizations with various departments and field offices;
  • Flexible, with the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision;
  • Works well with others, share information, contributes, encourages and motivates others to become involved in team activities;
  • Excellent time management skills, and capable of working under pressure and handling stress;
  • Keen sense of ethics, integrity, credibility, and commitment to IDLO’s mandate.

Terms & Conditions

For this internationally professional recruited position, IDLO shall offer the selected candidate a Fixed Term Contract of 24 months, with possibility of extension subject to performance and availability of funding.

IDLO shall also offer a yearly basic salary of EUR 93,353 and a benefits package including provident fund contribution, medical insurance, leave entitlements in accordance with IDLO Employee Regulations and Rules. Relocation and installation support are also available for internationally recruited employees.

Salaries and benefits paid by IDLO to employees are exempt from taxation in Italy. IDLO employees are responsible for compliance with income tax laws of their country of nationality or residence and/or of any other relevant fiscal jurisdiction.
