How To Stop Online Fraud? Jharkhand High Court Seeks Reply From RBI On Cybercrime
Jharkhand High Court’s Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Anand Sen’s division bench heard the PIL filed regarding the prevention of cybercrime in the state. During the hearing, advocate Pandey Neeraj Rai, on behalf of the Reserve Bank of India ie RBI, urged for time.
Accepting the request, the court has sought information from the RBI about the measures taken to prevent cybercrime in Jharkhand. The court has directed the RBI to file an affidavit by August 3.
On behalf of the Union Home Ministry, it was verbally said that in this matter, not TRAI, but RBI has a role. The court has asked them to file an affidavit.
Applicant’s advocate Rajeev Kumar told the court that cyber criminals are active in Deoghar, Jamtara and Sahibganj in Jharkhand. The incidents of cybercrime are carried out on a large scale from Jharkhand.
Cyber criminals execute the incident of cyber fraud in other states of the country including Jharkhand. Police has a cyber cell, but it is not very active. In such a situation, the morale of cyber criminals is continuously increasing, and there is a pertinent need to curb them.
