“Facebook Will Be Shut Off Across India”, The Karnataka High Court Has Issued A Warning To Social Media Networks

The Karnataka High Court issued a warning to Facebook on Wednesday. The court has stated that if Facebook is unable to cooperate with state authorities, it may be forced to shut down its services in India.

This is the court’s response to the investigation into the case of an Indian detained in Saudi Arabia. Facebook is believed to be refusing to cooperate with the Karnataka Police in this situation.

During the hearing on Kavitha’s plea in Dakshina Kannada district, Justice Krishna S. Dixit’s bench issued this warning to the social networking business. The judge ordered Facebook to submit the full report with all necessary details to the court within a week.

The bench further stated that the Central Government should explain what steps we have taken so far in relation to the bogus arrest of an Indian national in Saudi Arabia. Mangaluru Police has been directed to continue the investigation and write a report as a result of this.
