THE CENTRE FOR BUSINESS AND COMMERCIAL LAWS (CBCL) INVITES SUBMISSIONS FOR ANNUAL JOURNAL OF NLIU OF BUSINESS LAWS VOLUME-4 (NLIU-JBL)
ABOUT NLIU, BHOPAL:
The National Law Institute University has been successful in instilling a sense of broad perspective along with scholastic and reflexive capabilities bearing in mind larger national and humanitarian goals in its students Legal education never received the attention it deserved in this country.
It goes to the credit of Madhya Pradesh Government to realise that the policy of globalisation and liberalisation opened up new economic and developmental opportunities for the people. Trans-national and supranational regimes threw new challenges as much to economics and finance as to law and the legal profession. A trained cadre of dedicated and informed lawyers is needed to take up the responsibilities generated by the new developments all over the world.
ABOUT CENTRE FOR BUSINESS AND COMMERCIAL LAWS:
The Centre for Business and Commercial Laws (CBCL) at National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU) operates The CBCL Blog to publish the latest updates and commentary on the developments relating to business laws and its associated subject areas in India. The objective of The CBCL Blog is to create a platform for both, professionals and students, to contribute their unique opinions and viewpoints so as to stimulate an exchange of ideas in all aspects of business and commercial laws.
THEME:
JBL shall include articles pertaining to the field of business and commercial laws. Students, academicians and professionals may apply. Material must be original and unpublished. submissions must be of contemporary social relevance and high standard of scholarship.

SUBMISSION OF CATEGORIES:
Long Articles – 4000 – 7000 Words:
Long articles must be detailed and comprehensive containing a rigorous in-depth analysis of the contemporary problem(s) and idea(s). It should identify the lacunae in the existing status quo along with solutions, alternatives, suggestions, and references to a range of sources.
Short Articles in 2000 – 4000 Words:
Short articles should rigorously analyze the contemporary problem(s), idea(s), identify lacunae in the existing status quo and provide solutions or alternative suggestions.
Case Comments in 2000 – 4000 Words:
A case comment should be a critique of a recent judgments highlighting the relevance of judgments to the field of business & commercial laws and views expressed in the judgment. It should include the critical opinion of the author.
Legislative Comment in 2000 – 4000 words:
The comment should focus on a rigorous analysis of a recent legislative instrument examining the objective of the legislation and its the legal impact.
Book Review in 1000 – 3000 words:
Book review must be an account of a recently published book dealing with business & commercial laws. It should elaborate the issues explored and left unexplored and the related arguments of the author.
The word limit should be exclusive of abstract and the footnotes. the prescribed word limit ust be relaxed upto 10% at the discretion of the editorial board.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
- The title encapsulates the topic and elaborate the body of work
- The abstract briefly describes the idea behind the submission, its structure and the authors’ conclusion(s)
- The issue(s) are clearly identified and described comprehensively.
- The submission is coherently presented with in-depth understanding of issues and contemporary socio legal impact .
FORMATTING GUIDELINES:
The title must reveal the topic and explain the concept of work.
There must be an abstract of 250 to 300 words.
Abstract must have the novelty and utility of the idea. It must categorically mention the contribution of the article beyond the existing available literature.
The body of the manuscript should be in Times New Roman, Font Size 12, and 1.5- line spacing.
The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, Font Size 10, and single line spacing.
The citations must conform to the style of OSCOLA (4th Edition) – Key available here.
Co-authorship (with no cap on authors) is permitted for all articles.
Manuscripts must only use footnotes as a means of citation. Substantive footnotes are permissible.
The manuscript should not contain any references to the identity of the authors. Authors are allowed to cite their previous published work.
All submissions shall only proceed to the content evaluation after clearing a strict plagiarism check.
