Bengal Panchayat Election: The Supreme Court will hear tomorrow the petition of the Mamata government and the State Election Commission in the Bengal Panchayat election violence case.

The Supreme Court will hear tomorrow the petition of the Mamata government and the State Election Commission in the West Bengal Panchayat election violence case. The Calcutta High Court had ordered the deployment of central security forces in every district within 48 hours. Both have reached the Supreme Court against the order.

A division bench of Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam and Justice Hiranmoy Bhattacharya had asked the state government to apply to the Center for central forces within the next 48 hours.

There is a lot of violence in Bengal during the Panchayat elections. So far many people have died in different incidents, while dozens have been injured. In view of this, the Calcutta High Court had given this order.
