Allahabad High Court confirms Death Penalty awarded to the accused in the Murder of his own wife and children

Allahabad High Court on 06.09.2022 confirms the Death Penalty of an accused who killed his own wife, minor children and two other neighbours because of his illicit relationship with his sister in law (Bhabhi) Suman.

Bench of Hon’ble Justice Ramesh Sinha and Hon’ble Justice Saroj Yadav observed that,

six persons were murdered by convict/ appellant Sarvan in most brutal, grotesques, diabolical and dastardly manner arousing indignation and abhorrence of society which calls for an exemplary punishment.” Court further observed that, “the convict/ appellant Sarvan is a menace to the Society and if he is not awarded death penalty, others members of the Society may not be safe, he slayed six lives to quench his thirst.” The bench further stated that, “the entire incident is extremely revolting and shocks the collective conscience of the community. Murders were committed in gruesome, merciless and brutal manner”.

Hence, Criminal Appeals by both the accused shall stand Dismissed.

Accused Sarvan’s Death Penalty under Section 302, 323 and 201 I.P.C is liable to confirmed and accused Suman shall be taken into custody and sent to jail and shall serve accordingly to the impugned order  dated 29.08.2017.
