There Is No Live-in Relationship In Islam, Provision of Punishment Under Quran: Allahabad High Court 

 

The Allahabad High Court dismissed a petition seeking protection of an inter-religious couple, saying that according to Chapter 24 of the Quran, unmarried men and women are punished with 100 lashes for adultery.

The Allahabad High Court has given an important decision on the petition of an inter-religious live-in couple. It was observed that any kind of sexual, lustful, affectionate act like kissing, touching, staring is prohibited before marriage in Islam. The court said that it has been called haram in Islam, considering it as adultery, it is considered a part of Zina, abplive reported.

The Allahabad High Court said, according to Chapter 24 of the Quran, there is a punishment of 100 lashes for unmarried men and women for adultery. According to the Sunnah, there is a punishment of stoning to death for married men and women. The court dismissed the petition saying this. The girl’s mother is unhappy with this live-in relationship, after which an FIR has been lodged against both of them. After which a 29-year-old Hindu woman and a 30-year-old Muslim man had filed a petition seeking protection, although both had not expressed their desire to marry in the near future. The Allahabad High Court said that no recognition can be given to sex outside marriage in Muslim law.

The inter-faith couple had alleged in their petition that the Hasanganj police station in Lucknow was harassing them at the behest of the girl’s mother. It was said in the petition that the family members of the girl are not accepting their relationship due to the different religions of the two. However, the court said that if he is in real danger, he can file an FIR with the police. Along with this, you can apply under 156 (3) CrPC before the competent court or you are also free to file a complaint under section 200 CrPC.

The matter was heard in the Division Bench of Justice Sangeeta Chandra and Justice Narendra Kumar Johri of the Allahabad High Court, after which the court dismissed his petition.
