Chief Justice DY Chandrachud on Friday launched e-filing 2.0 and told lawyers that the facility to file cases electronically would now be available 24×7.
Along with this, the Chief Justice also inaugurated an e-service center in the Supreme Court premises.
Before the commencement of the court proceedings on Friday, the Chief Justice said that “we have unveiled ‘e-filing 2.0’ this morning. These facilities will be available to all the lawyers 24 hours a day throughout the week. Two Facilitation Centers have been opened to assist those lawyers who do not have these facilities and are not conversant with technology.”
The Chief Justice said that “through the e-filing software, one can not only go to the e-Seva Kendra to file cases, but other services can also be availed to know the status of the case from any court or tribunal across the country.”
All the judicial officers and lawyers present in the court room including Solicitor General Tushar Mehta appreciated this step.
It may be noted that cases are being filed through e-filing in various courts of the country including the Supreme Court.
